Description of the Seminar:

It is a seminar where the fundamental notions of interactive narration are seen, as well as tools to conceive and develop it.

What do you learn?

The participants will have an overview of interactive fiction and will know the tasks that a narrative designer performs. How does storytelling work in games? What tools and programs are useful to devise a story and script it?
To incorporate the knowledge better, we will work with exercises that will capture the different stages through which a project can go.

Role of the designer and first steps
  • Panorama of interactive fiction and the role of the narrative designer
  • World of fiction, game world. Ludo-Narrative Dissonance
  • Idea, theme, metaphor as core
  • Creation of premises and concepts

Module 2

Linear and non-linear stories. Design tools
  • How the classic story and the monomito in the games work
  • Alternative stories. Non-linear structures
  • Synopsis, runway, flowchart

Module 3

Characters and dialogue
  • Creation of characters. Aspirational fantasies
  • Types of dialogs in games

Module 4

Scripts, programs, documentation
  • The interactive, linear and non-linear script
  • Programs and documentation
  • Life after the script and teamwork
Alejandra Bruno: Brief professional review

He graduated in the CIEVYC Film and TV Production career, and in the Script Technique at the Teba Foundation.
He is gamedesigner, scriptwriter, contender and teacher. He specializes in interactive narrative design and educational videogames. He has worked at the 2008 for the QB9 Entertainment / CMD studio and has done numerous projects for other studios and organizations.
Some games he worked on: Doors of themind (Big Fish / QB9); Lego MonsterFighter'srace and Lego Monsterland Tales (Lego / QB9); Unicef ​​Planet - Mundo Gaturro (educational games for Unicef ​​/ QB9); MMO Mundo Gaturro (QB9); Sherlock, lost detective (Theotherguys), TheHealer (Theotherguys); Mathematics and language apps (Unicef); A day in the Viceroyalty (Plan / Museo del Cabildo de la Nación); Cruce de Mundos (Edutrama / Ministry of Education).
From the 2004 she works as a script teacher at Image Campus. She was also a script and film script teacher at the CIEVYC, Teba Foundation, ORT Institute and Maimónides University.
