What do you learn?
3D Animation Professional Training Course
We are at the best time to work in the 3D Animation industry and new talents are needed. In the current context, the possibility of working remotely without settling in another country enabled the opening of new markets and therefore exponentially increased the demand for entertainers.
In this journey, you will learn concepts and techniques of 3D character animation, according to procedures and workflow used by the industry (Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks). Our teachers are active professionals in the area and have the latest news and market trends.
You will learn to animate in Autodesk Maya (the main 3D animation software in the world) although each concept and technique can be fully transferred to the other tools: Blender, 3D Studio Max and Cinema 4D among others.
In this training you will learn:
- The 12 principles of animation (in Autodesk Maya): staging, squash and stretching techniques, follow through, overlapping action, timing and motion, arcs, exaggeration, slow in and slow out, strong drawing, secondary action, appeal, anticipation, straight ahead and pose to pose.
- Planning animated shots.
- Filming video references.
- Analysis of video references.
- Human locomotion.
- Analysis and construction of key poses.
- Analysis and construction of facial expressions.
- Lip Sync (lip synchro).
- Curve editor editing.
- Correct export of the animated preview (playblast).
- You will create your commercial demo reel.

What do our graduates think
Experience in professional 3D animation was very good. The equipment at Image is up to the demands and the teachers made learning very enjoyable. It was not just a Maya course, I learned the basics of animation regardless of the program.
I graduated from Image and Sound Design and was working in the animation industry as a generalist. By taking professional 3D animation I was able to delve into the subject, gain experience and acquire new tools. Since then I have worked exclusively as a character animator, having participated in several animated projects, both in series and in feature films and video games.
In Image I learned the basics of character animation, it was not only a technical training but also a methodical and artistic one. My teachers always pushed me to give more and shared all their knowledge. Studying there put me in contact with people who work in the environment and that opened many doors for me.
