The realization of cartoons is a fascinating creative process where you can experience and master in a practical way the creation of audiovisual worlds, characters and different techniques of animation as the traditional and digital cut out that will develop in this way

Want to learn the latest 2D animation techniques from the market?
At the end of the full nine-month journey, you will have the technical and creative skills that will allow you to master the secrets of the trade and you will be able to work as a traditional and digital animator 2D in the animated production in many productions. Since animation is one of the techniques most used in the audiovisual world and can be found transmedia in feature films, TV series, web series, visuals, video clips, documentaries, advertisements, video games and video clips.

With a specialized approach, these 2 trajectories will practically dominate the realization of different TRADITIONAL Animation Techniques and Design, bones, controllers and animation of DIGITAL 2D CUT OUT characters. Which are applied in various audiovisual productions: animation cinema, advertising, video clips, video games, motion graphics, among others.

It consists of 2 independent paths:

1- Traditional Animation Path
It consists of two modules:
- 12 animation principles and characters in action.
- Animated performance of characters.

2- 2D Digital Animation Cut Out (Paperless and Cut out)
In order to take this course, it is necessary to show a demoreel or audiovisual portfolio containing 12 practices of animation, characters in action and performance of characters as a prerequisite.
- Digital animation paperless and Cut out
- Animated production, design, bones, controllers and animation cut out.


You will learn the principles governing animation techniques in general, board practices and digital media.

You will understand the movement and be able to animate your characters from drawings. You will do practical exercises on board entertainment, with pen and paper in a first stage and then digitally (always freehand) with a Wacom tablet and a PC per student.

  • Fundamental concepts of the twelve principles of traditional animation (Disney) governing the production of cartoons to give life to different items and characters.
  • Drawing tools for animation.
  • Character animation action: walks, runs, jumps, cyclical movements, weight and body expression.
  • Express the personality of a character through their vocalizations, gestures, movement and action.
  • Narrative of short stories so that each year there is an interesting piece.
  • To generate your own video animations you make on board and digitally.
Software to Use
Adobe Flash: to encourage digital media. Adobe After Effects (basic) to compose and edit your video.

By studying Digital Animation 2D cut out, you will practice comfortably with software that requires the audiovisual industry. By knowing the specifics of each program, you will know what you should use on each occasion and for what projects.

Continuing Education

This training course enables you to move to other routes Area Animation:

  • If you are interested in animation for film or video games 3D, you can continue Animation Professional 3D with use of Autodesk Maya.
  • Alternatively MOTION GRAPHICS, Animation and graphic 2D 3D focused on TV, with use Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D.

  • New Technological Resources available to our students and teachers: Virtual Reality Experiences, with the new Oculus Cristal Cove, HTC Vive, Leap Motion, Eye Tracker (Virtual Reality experiences); Ultimaker 2 + and Makerbot in their Replicator model, which will be available to all students of Image Campus to materialize the 3D prototypes they develop; Motion Capture (new Motion Capture system) and Video Game Consoles (PlayStation 4 among others).

Professional artist passionate about the direction of art, illustration, animation and character design for projects of cartoons, motion graphics, advertising and video games for different media and brands such as: Mtv, Sesame Plaza, Visa, Disney Channel, Discovery Kids, Cartoon Network, Cocacola, Paka Paka, Filmax, TDA, Telefe, Microsoft, Tenaris, Personal Kids, Kidloom among others. Bachelor of Business Design and Communication (UP), Senior Technician in Comprehensive Realization of Cartoons and graduated from the professional path of Motion Graphics of the Image Campus Institute. Currently, he is Technical Coordinator of the Superior Technique in Cartoons, of the Technique of Traditional and Digital Animation 2D, and of the digital graphic, illustration and animation area 2D in Image Campus.
Walter Lazzari
Walter LazzariProfessional 2D and Cut-Out professional character animator. I work for different prestigious studios such as: Hook Up, Indiecito SA, Fort Music, Illusion Studios, Bujos, among others. He worked as a character animator for advertising, cinema and television series, forming part of the animation area in films such as "Martín Fierro, an animated adventure", "A film of eggs", "Boogie the oily"; Series such as "The Ship of Omi", "Doodlebops", "Bondiband" For the channels Disney XD and Disney Junior. He directed a winning series of a contest for the INCAA called "Martin and Terry" He made Storyboards for the winning series of a contest for the INCAA called "Historias Chicas". He currently works as a Freelance Animator, Teacher and Coordinator of the career of "Integral Cartographer" and "Animation Techniques, Design and Illustration" at Image Campus.
